Here at The Lake House Denmark, everything we produce (including our handcrafted specialty food range Vinofood) is made with the sole intention of bringing you, our customers, a taste of the good life. It all began a couple of decades ago, when a Perth couple gave up corporate life in exchange for the beautiful Denmark countryside. It wasn’t long before our passion for connecting people to good things grew into a new and exciting opportunity.
The Lake House Denmark winery was soon established, and with it our vineyard platters – lavish gourmet spreads featuring the very best in South West produce and small batch specialty food, made in-house by our good life specialists.
The Lake House owner Leanne had been making homemade condiments for friends and family for years, but it wasn’t until she was concocting the winery’s lauded platters that the idea for Vinofood came about.
You see, while the Lake House platters capture the essence of what the winery was (and is) all about – a place to share a taste of the good life with one and all – at the time, there wasn’t a way for that taste to be shared and experienced by people when they got home.
After many customer requests, Leanne thought it would be great to pop a taste of the good life into jars. She picked a selection of her go-tos, including her fig, apple and chardonnay chutney, merlot wine jelly and seeded chardonnay mustard, and Vinofood was born.
For Leanne, Vinofood became a way to make cooking and entertaining easy, not just for her, but for her customers.
“So many of us are time-poor; often we’re looking for easy mid-week fixes or ways to ‘wow’ guests without the hours of preparation and stress,” Leanne says. “That’s where Vinofood comes in.
“Our range is all about offering quick and easy cooking solutions guaranteed to impress, without sacrificing flavour. We also wanted to capture what we consider ‘the good life’ in a jar, so we thought it imperative that our products had no nasties like preservatives, but did include all the good things like locally sourced, natural ingredients.”
Since Leanne first began bottling her creations, the Vinofood specialty food range has expanded to include sweet and savoury sauces, dressings, jams and preserves, chutneys, relishes and chocolate.
For an extra little twist, every single Vinofood specialty food product, made in small batches onsite here at The Lake House, contains grapes, grapeseed oil and/or wine; a nod to the winery and its vineyard.
